I'm looking at The SITH OverLORD's signature, and wondering ... How old is Chancellor/Emperor Palpatine / Darth Sidious?
He is the only adult character who appear from SW1 - SW6 episodes.
(except for Anakin/Vader, but he's a kid in SW1)
May the Force Live Long & Prosper ...

I assume he is 40 at TPM by the looks.
+ 10yrs (AOTC)
+another few yrs(guess 5 yrs?) (Clone Wars + ROTS)
Luke is born at ROTS timeline, he is a fine adult at ROTJ, so i assume luke is 24+ yrs old.
So Palpy is 40 +10 +5 +20 +24
=99 yrs old?
This is MY guess hor. Not sure. But i know he is VERY OLD at ROTJ.

I guess he should be close to a century by the time of his demise in the Death Star in ROTJ.
by the way, just realised something interesting... Palpatine was
not played by actor Ian McDiarmid in ESB

well, I was everyone
else back then till 2005, but that was last year

now in 2006 I am wiser on that fact
by the way, this is how the official site described the final moments of Mace Windu's battle with Palpatine:
The evil energies twisted Palpatine's face as they flowed through him, scarring and disfiguring his once handsome features.
I guess that really exemplifies
beauty in the eye of its beholder.

In the comic book "Dark Empire" we find that Palpatine can move his spirit to clone bodies. That is how he planned to live forever.
As you can see, my Jedi powers are far beyond yours. Now, back down.

palpatine's birth(47Br5:8:11)
events of TPM (3:4:14) or (32BBY)
events of ROTJ(4ABY)
from palpy's birth to TPM - 51 years
from TPM to ROTJ - 36 years
my guess is palpy is 51 + 36 = 87 years old

between the battle of geonosis (AOTC) & battle of coruscant (ROTS) there's a span of 3 years over which the clone wars raged. ROTS itself unfolded over a time frame of around 10 days

yep. taking into account that it's been more than 5 months since anakin met padme at the start of ROTS, a result of the outer rim sieges, it's reasonable that padme's already 9 months pregnant
anyway official word on this from starwars insider is 9-10days
