So what you are saying is that flash photography is OK so long as it's not the kind that the pros use :?:

I was at the impression that too much exposure to flash may damage certain sensitive props ... but hey, that's a GREAT news, dan ... will equip myself with a digital camera right away! :D ... not targeting the prop, but aiming the slave princess ...

Flashing is not allow at the exhibition emh... I think Princess Leia will have to cover up. Perhaps she would wear the costume she wore when she, Han and Luke were trap in the trash compactor in ROTJ?
Trust me princess~

Flashes will damaged the Costumes, Props and especially the Artworks. It make the colors fade even faster and disintegrate the fibres over time.

We'll appreciate it if you make our job easier by setting your cam to Musuem Mode or Switch Off the Flash.

The kind of flash you are talking about are the kinds professional photographers used. These are really, really bright and hot. The kinds used in digital cameras are rather mild. Based on experience, the lights in such exhibitions are rather low and hence, usually taking pictures with flash are unavoidable and difficult to prevent.

So it should be either taking photos are allowed or not allowed. Taking pictures without flash is difficult to control. For us, we understand the reason and would not like to see the exhibits damaged in any way. For the public, you can expect complaints if flash are not allowed.

 About time some stuff like this comes to Singapore.
About time i joined the Forums too...haha only read it for the past few months but finally got past tt laziness and joined up.

Star Wars Exhibition, okay now this might be a little late...but DAMN I CAN'T WAIT.

Just read the news about the camera. Im Glad, they allowed that. Wonder whats the entry fee like?

Now i gotta find some time to go when im not stuck at nus doing research on materials, which while interesting, im not that crazy bout it either. That leaves the weekends free and the weekends are usually packed...

Set highest ISO for dim conditons.
Also subject must pose very still.
Try not to have a brighter light source behind the object to avoid shadows.

I have to SSC brought insurance... the school holidays is on, kid will run amok... the force is uncertain in kids... might be some dark ones out there...

:D

I worked in Science Centre before and do maintenance on Monday when they closed. Trust me, there are plenty of unruly kids who knows no better and plenty of parents who allow their kids to do what they want just because they had paid the entrance fees they feel that they are entitled to do anything they want in Science Centre.

Don't be too surprise if you find kids pulling off the uniforms on display and have their own light sabre fights.
