Hi, I'm a new member on this forums, and I've read through this topic. It seems that I'm also in the same boat as the TS, eager to get my first TK set but currently saved roughly S$500 so far.

I read somewhere in pages 3~6/8 that one of the members will get the TS a TK set for $1k, so what i wanted to ask is: Would the $1k set be in a kit? I'm not too good with kits, and I cant seem to find a guide on setting up a TK kit around this forum.

Thanks!
Hoping to get my first stormtrooper uniform!

Hi IIoonnee2, welcome to the forum

maybe you would like to introduce yourself in the Jedi or Sith thread?

refer to this link for the TK costume. Most of us will recommend you contact the S'pore garrsion, 501st legion. They can help you source for the armor and give valuable tips regarding the TKs.

Thanks for all the welcomes; Is S$800 the max price for a FX set of amour? $1k seems quite alot :( , but I should be able to save up to $800 thanks to the CNY hongbaos.

S$800 will get you the hard parts for the FX TK armor.. but it may not buy everything needed..

yes i agree with Sev-like. you will need to consider the other smaller details like velcros, glue etc.

Thanks for all your replies :D

I contacted the 501st garrison in Singapore, here is what the CO said.

Hi there,

A full Stormtrooper costume including boots, undersuit, gloves etc tends to run about USD$1,200 upwards.

You'll need to be 18yrs before you can join the 501st. In the meantime, you can surf www.whitearmour.net to research more about the Stormie costume.

Cheers

US $1,200 !?!?

Well I guess that's a goal for me to save...

Btw, I tried going to the webbie that he said, but I'm unable to reach it. Does anyone know of other websites I can look up on Stormie sets?

Thanks

Hehe...yeah.. i think USD1200 is just to be safe, no surprises... Anyway, how old are you?

I don't think there are any more 501st approved webbies featuring TKs...whitearmor.net works fine for me too....

Thanks, that website that erase posted works fine. I wonder why I couldent google it

I'm currently 14+ this year (bday on 18 july), so its going to be hard to save up about s$1k. But I'm aiming for savings of S$8 per week... hopefully it'll add up.

Another bonus about having a tk costume while still a student is that you can wear it to "Be Yourself Day" event. I think it'll be pretty funny :P

Current cash on hand: S$730

Bro, you can get the stormtrooper helmet and armor for USD$500 and another USD$100 for shipping in from the US. The armor is movie accurate quality and comes in kit form and roughly trimmed. It needs trimming and assembly which most kits require anywhere.

Since yr only 14, I suggest you wait a bit. Yr still growing and you don't want to outgrow yr armor by the time yr old enough to enter the legion. Plus as the years go by, armor prices drop with more makers appearing on the market. I remember a time when a set of stormtrooper armor would set you back USD$3k!!!

As for assembly, normally we throw 'armor parties' where us more experienced 501st get together to help the newbies assemble their armor.

Apart from the armor+helmet, you will also need to set aside about $300 for the extras - boots, dive suit, gloves, neck seal, blaster, holster, velco, elastic straps, cloth tape, etc.

errm... guys, exchange rate do fluctuates(not sure abt republic credits, its useless in the outer rims  )...
it was S$1.7-1.8 to US$1 beginning last yr. now it is fluctuating roughly abt S$1.45-1.5+ to US$1. so means to say, it will cost ~S$1.5k if we are talking abt USD1k.
having said tat, mosske is right, you do not want to out grow ur suit since ur just 14. you have 4yrs more to save and get your armour.
work during holidays to earn some extras n experience. ask mosske if u can join the armour parties to get a feel of the armour and to know more.
