What happened to Jar Jar Binks???

So yesterday i was watching EPVI Remastered Version DVD and at the end of it i hear Jar Jar Binks shouting "We'sa Free!!".
Was his race captured by the empire or something???

Which version is the remastered ROTJ DVD? I got the one with the large Silver box and 4 X DVDs inside. Is that one the remastered DVD?

Oh i bought EP IV,V and VI separately so i don't know about the large silver box...

Not sure if that's actually Jar Jar or just another generic Gungun. But yeah, he's in the silver box edition as well as all other Special Edition Original Trilogy DVDs.
