Bacara helmet on the way

Post by donleow » Tue Dec 11, 2007 11:12 pm

My latest acquistion from a fellow 501st member from mexico garrison...has not seen the helmet yet but it is a fiberglass helmet . Glad to add this to my clone helmet collection...will show more pics when the actual product arrives...this is the helmet i have been searching and been trying to acquire for a while...cheers

Only helmet was available to me ( too bad) - he needs his armour for a keller which he is working on.

Whoa. That's some sweet armor. You'll need some Marines to back you up now. :D

Sorry, I am new to all things helmet.

Where can I get my hands on these? I like to have a few helmets in my collection. Anyone locally producing these?

Thanks!

Two questions, well..three. When will you get it? Will you finish the armor for Bacara? ..and, most important of all..more pictures of it, when you get ahold of it? :D

check out ebay if u are interested to buy one price varies. Full armour will also come in kit form or finished products with many variances.

Disclaimer- i did mentioned is only the helmet that i was able to acquire but not the armour so helmet is arriving probably in January 2008.

Ah, thanks! Never thought of ebay much! Will try and see what they have. Hopefully they will have kit form or one without piant.

Please post pics when your helmet arrived, Don! Thanks!

Be careful when buying helmet on eBay. There are a lot of unscrupulous seller passing off low quality badly cast helmets as high grade items. A decent looking helmet on eBay can actually be horrible in condition when you receive it. Many have found this out the hard way.

Best do your research properly and know everything you can before making the plunge.

Hang out with the big bros here during their public events and learn as much as you can before parting with your money.

Thanks for your advise, Plo!

I am often skeptical when it comes to ebay. Don't even like ebay to be honest.

I read one dude here who bought from RPF, a badly made Vader helmet and saw the pics. Gosh!

This is why I am reading the threads here to find out more before I part with me limited cash! I am getting very interested in these. I like to have the clone helmets, those few variants. Good few variants.

Seems to be these are from assorted producers?

Are these helmets MR recast or GK? Either way, if its accurate, good and cheap. I will be interested unless there is something else I should look out for? :?

I am looking out for news for the next outing you guys are organising. If you meet a big guy who ask a lot of questions on your helmets and bugging you to sell me your used FX. That is probably me!

Was it a Vader helmet? If it is then its probably the one I fixed

MR only made one clone helmet, the EP2 version. All the other clone helmets from the Prequel are fan made. I would stay away from MR helmets too; they've had a lot of delivery and quality issues. Fan made helmets are cheaper and usually more accurate, since they do it out of passion and not just profit.

I have many helmets in my collection, none of them by MR. However MR stuff are good investment, since the price usually appreciates due to the limited edition nature. And prices of all things MR are slated to increase even more after MR's SW license is officially expired next year.

Very nice looking bit of gear mate! :)

Now you just need to walk into Jabba's and stroke some bird's chin while wearing it :)

I especially like the dints/blaster holes and the wookiee braids!
