The figures and starcase is all the same. Show-off-fols will tend to laugh and mock that the regular versions are not as worthy as their SDCC version.

Commander Faie, thanks for the clarification. Is the regular version easily available in Singapore outside Chine Square Central :?:

The regular versions pop out all over singapore TRU outlets recently. Heard that yesterday it was restocked, but quickly sold out. $24.90 including star case.

SDCC version must ask somebody go SDCC there to buy. Some folks got lobang, and some resell it at a scalper price to earn profit.

Sigh............... I was waiting for the regular version of the 501st Trooper as I find the "resale" prices that cost anything from S$35 to S$40 too expensive. And I didn't even know that TRU restock it yesterday. :( Must be all gone by now.

Precisely, TRU wanna get rid of those stuff by selling it off at half the price. (originally $24.90 now $12 something.)

If only I had waited (which I usually dont)... Paid the full price for all 4 figs (didnt get tusken). But I'm content as it is that I didnt pay scalper prices for any of them 8).

By the way did anyone spot Kit Fisto from the greatest battles wave?

That's where you're wrong. The scalpers of all scalpers, in which most of us have overlook, are in fact the very retailers.

China factory, freash from oven, 1 figure = less than S$5.
In USA retails,
One basic figure = US$6.99 (approx S$12)

In Singapore retails,
One basic figure = $17.90
Scalper price per figure = $20-$35. Mostly $25 range.

So who's evil?

That's what a few people did, and they manage to smuggle out loose figures and sell it at a 'good' price to others. I shall not point who those people are but they just happen to have lobang.

Hi Comd Faie, my 2 cents worth of thoughts here... i am not siding any body here... "dun wan to be labed collaborating with scalper"... We cant really say that retailer is a scalper. Dun forget that in this market, simple logic stands, when there's demand, there will be supply. Retailers, as they are called, retail and make $, that's business. If retailers can be so considerate and to be so concern that they will "not earn too much of the consumers $"... then I doubt this retailer will be able to "retail" for too long in this competitive mkt. Apart from that, it is us "the consumer" that make such mkt so hot, bcos we like the things, so we dun mind paying for it. So naturally there will be someone who will be making all this "things" for us and then we pay the price. It is because we percieved all this toys worth that much, that's why some of us are willing to pay. Likewise, if for someone who dun even know what is Star Wars, when you tell him you will sell him a Gentle Giant Clone bust for say S$20 (which is dirt cheap), he will say he rather spend the $20 to watch a movie with his gf. However to a SW Fans, I think he will say take $50 and keep the change. The bottom line, it's all down to individual percieve value and the rules of "Supply and demand".

Ah the economics rule of supply and demand. Demand for SW merchandise is extremely high here :|
