Man...youtube opened the floodgates of nostalgia and I'm swept away in the current to the good ol' days.

I remember during the JC1 orientation programme of my time, some classes had to select a song and perform an MTV 'live' onstage. Gutsy girls from MGS and Katong Convent in my class pulled off "I WANT YOU BACK" by Bananarama. Haha! Me? I was one of them bozos below who just watched their performance with mouth agape. *gaga*.

All I wanted back then was to 'Party All The Time' like Eddie Murphy, preferably with the 'Caribbean Queen'...

Hmmm...must dust off my vinyl record collection and see if my turntable is still working one of these days...

My TOP GROUP of the 1980s... DURAN DURAN!!!

Met the band in 1990, the first time they came to Singapore, got John Taylor's autograph then, and my best friend got Simon Le Bon's autograph... went to their concert in 1994/5... attended their recent Reunion concert held in 2004(??) and got Nick Rhodes' autograph... yup, I'm a Duranie!

Other artists of the period that I enjoyed... Tears For Fears, Depeche Mode, A-Ha, Bros, Mel & Kim (anyone remember them??), Wham, Michael Jackson, Sting, Bananarama, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, Rick Astley, Bon Jovi and Def Leppard.

And the worst of them all, New Kids on the Block! Thankfully they can't be found on my playlist anymore.

who's on my playlist still? Madonna of the 80's. Wilson Phillips. George Michael, the artist formerly known as prince, among others.
