The Legacy Collection - TIE Interceptorâ„¢
Item #: 92287
UPC/EAN/ISBN: 653569448662
Manufacturer: Hasbro
Release Date: 2009
R.R.Price: USD$49.99 (Toys 'R' Us Exclusive - USA, and where distributed)
The elite TIE Interceptor starfighter slices through space with its dagger-like wings and ultrasleek design. Designed for speed and firepower, this Imperial fighter has four additional laser cannons mounted on its wings that the pilots use with devastating accuracy. As a space superiority fighter, the TIE Interceptor challenged the Rebel Alliance and used extensively at the Battle of Endor.

Rarely would I start a review with a rant... Why isn't this beautiful vehicle being launched in SG? Is it because it's an exclusive? Arrrrrrgh! Dawgtt it!?!... Pardon me, and with that out of the way...

Let's let it rip!!

Packaging removal...
Image Image Image Image
This has probably got to be one of the worst(cheapest) way in packing the vehicle. It's got no support at all. Thankfully, the wings are made of some kind of flexible plastic...

The pilot and weapon unpacked...

The holster...

Views of the pilot...

Unmasked...

A generic face sculpt, and quite similar to a clone...

The helmet and gear

And onto the main item...

Here's the 6 views of the craft...
Image Image Image Image Image Image Image
Molded in blue, the overall sculpt of the craft is about the same as the previous released 181st TIE interceptor.

And the main update... the cockpit
Image Image Image Image Image

And with the gentle removal of the ejection seat...

The ejection seat...

With the pilot on it...

The plastic clamps attaches at the waist of the pilot. Due to the rubbery-like material, it extremely flexible, and seems to be able to take alot of "punishment".

More shots...

The exploding action feature...
Image Image Image
And this feature is still being retained... though it's still a great feature.

Part 2:

They have retractable cannons...

Though, am not really sure what's it for...

And some shots of the craft... with the ejection seat...

And here's the schematics of the craft for reference.

The 181st version of the TIE Interceptor had almost all SW collectors divided... whether to pick up an EU vehicle with an almost accurate main body, or wait... And due to that and it being an exclusive (H.R.P., High Retail Price) it was warming the shelves of our local TRU for quite some time. Well, this time round, this is the definitive version to add to one's collection. An ejection seat, an extremely detailed and accurate cockpit, S.A. imperial pilot, etc, what more could one ask for?

I certainly don't mind building up a squadron of these, had I have the space available for this.

Oh, and before I end off... my colleague helped to purchase this near his place before coming over to work, and it cost me...

Thanks for reading.
