Building an R2-D2

Post by hbng » Wed Jul 30, 2008 1:43 pm

Was asked by a friend if I'm interested in building a remote controlled R2-D2.

I'm seriously considering it. Anyone else keen? The site I believe with all the information I need is as follows: http://astromech.net

Life-Size or Scaled Down?

Ya, will look forward to it and maybe we can even eventually get our own Singapore or Starwars.Sg Droid one day. ;)

Hmmmmm....R2-SG?

A 1:1 RC R2-D2 will be a crowd pleaser at events :)

Well, I just bought 2 R2D2 dusbins from Simply Toys. They're less than a metre tall...could have potential to build remote control system into it....make the top flip open with a push of a button! haha

Wow! Can't wait to see it started and completed. ;)

Heehee....whichever name lah up to you as you are going to be it's "daddy". ;) Color Scheme, Name and Customization/Extras can always decide later; most important is to get the basic body and electronics inside settle first. ;)

We can make a "recycle-can-R2" :) Flip the head and throw in your used cans :)

Make it a group project with certain parts source out locally, and done over a period of time?
