Release the Good!
heh heh i'm rather looking forward to it myself. here's a quote frm tfn containing additional descriptions
The Star Wars Complete Visual Dictionary will contain all of the previous editions (Star Wars Episodes I, II and III, plus the Classic Star Wars Visual Dictionary covering the original 3 episodes), plus new material. Most of the new material will come from the Classic Star Wars era—such as more info on the rebels, Cloud City and Imperial leaders—but a good portion will come from Revenge of the Sith as well.
Two of the coolest new additions are a two-page cutaway cross-section of the Sarlacc from Return of the Jedi, and all new "look inside" the R2-D2 original model by Don Bies (one of the ILM model makers who actually operates R2) which is being rendered for DK by Mike Verta.
Release the Good!
incase everyone wondering what are the previous version..they are as follows. I personally felt that for those who have already the below shown...the new complete VD is a good supplement for the reason alot of data sources have been updated in the upcoming released Visual Dict complete collection. My gut feeling is that DK might release a festive pack to comprises all the books into one complete dictionary with goodies in time to come but i could be wrong...
here are the covers of the new VD in comparison contrast with the above older release

Hi Paul,
Speaking from my own experience, I thought I was spending BIG BUCKS when I first bought the Episode IV to VI Chronicles at about SGD$250.00 from Borders... but the last time I saw the same book at Kino Ngee Ann City, it was selling for about SGD$450.00 each... the price actually went up!
If you're looking at collector's value, I'd say go with the Chronicles, be it the trilogy or prequel book... but if you want explanations to go along with your pictures, then go with DK's Complete Visual Dictionary instead.
If price is your main consideration though, then the Complete Visual Dictionary is definitely more affordable than the Chronicles.
Let's put it this way, some time back, when I went to Kino to check up on what latest Star Wars books were available that I didn't already have, I saw Dressing A Galaxy and the Prequel Chronicles books right next to each other... after a few moments of consideration, I decided to get the Prequel Chronicles first and to get Dressing A Galaxy another time.
Just my 2 cents' worth!

Thank you for the info.freefly wrote:It's at popular bookshop. Bought it at 10% discount, though if I have waited I could have used the 20% annual gift voucher available for members. Now's a good time to get it if you're one
I just went to Popular yesterday to buy the book, and get 20% discount from my Popular membership.
Very thick book (& heavy book) indeed.
May the Force Live Long & Prosper ...
Looking forward to getting mine... but maybe on 24 or 25 Nov at Kino... *grin*
