Republic commando triple zero.

Post by area503 » Mon Mar 13, 2006 10:44 pm

Gotten the paper back last fri. interesting read, welcoming break from my current streak of reading the NJO(starting on the fourth book of the series).

the book is first and foremost, about the republic commandos. and not another book about jedis. It explains in detail about the training the clone commandoes recieved. And what kind of guy Walon Val is like (name noted from starwars rebuplic commandoes game.)

This book shown another side of the mandoalorian warriors. How one instructor tried to teach his boys mandoalorian culture to save their souls. The family man. much like the article in starwars insider march/april, the mandoalorian languaged used where accurately used as per the garmmer rules listed in the magazine. and there are instances where i wonder the magazine copied certain passages from the novel itself.

It is a must read for those who ever wondered what goes thru the minds of these lads, of the boys of kal skirata. How the Null ARC earned their name as the bonker squard. And those wondering what is a black op on home ground.

Easter eggs. what suprised me in this noval is the glossary section. not does it encompasses the militry jargon of the GAR, it also explain the meaning of every mandoalorian words used. With the artical on the mandoalorian language/ culture, i hope u have fun coming up with mandoalorian sentences.

Pakod ner vod. oya!

*note for gamers, u might realised that delta squard shld not even be on triple zero. it because on the 367 days after genosis, they were onboard the first assult ship they were assigned to, investigating its mystery disappearance/ appearance. (second act of the game, after genosis.) u can't be at two places on anyone time. even for a clone.

hehe have to disagree with that. Karen Traviss did a great job in developing the characters & identities of the clones, tying neatly with some superb Mando culture that she's created. got to learn some Mando'a (Mando language) too. though, it is true that Tripple Zero & Hard Contact are of a more character oriented nature than your usual pick of SW books

I took and read this book. Read the first few pages before I went off kino bookshop. It's lovely stuff. I have yet to purchase it. Maybe at a later time. But I can't find the first novel. Weird. Any ideas?
