Republic Commandos: Order 66
Republic Commandos: Order 66
omg its supposed to be out on the 16th...
I have been reading this book since last week.
Sorry to say somehow does not seem to suit me. I find it rather slow going.
The paperback book, I got it at Harris, 467 pages long, it was only at page 375 was order 66 given, so you can see that 80% of the book is on the life of the clonetroopers.

Find, fix, finish
But if you are a clone/mando fan (which i think you already are, seeing all those books) it'll suit you just fine..
Too bad someone important died though....
Personally, i like the book alot...read it twice over.. a good one for any of the "Skirata clan" fans..

I had hope that a book titled "Order 66" would after some initial introductions (at most, one quarter of the book) would go behind the scenes and described what happened to different Jedis in different parts of the universe, the reactions of different clonetroopers, (half the book) and its aftermath (last quarter of the book).
The book did not offer much new insights as I had already speculated on a lot of those stuff mentioned in the books and the ideas there were not too different from my own.

Well, if you've read the previous books under the Republic Commando series, you'll find that this one fits in perfectly with the others in moving the reader along an already established background, setting, range of main characters and point of view. The story simply continues. Everything in this book is written from the point of view of the main characters so you won't find alot of info on what happened to what jedi, etc., except for those directly involved in the story events or heard by the main characters as intel or hear-say perhaps.lhs1701 wrote:I had hope that a book titled "Order 66" would after some initial introductions (at most, one quarter of the book) would go behind the scenes and described what happened to different Jedis in different parts of the universe, the reactions of different clonetroopers, (half the book) and its aftermath (last quarter of the book).

I agree with Sev-like, it was really sad that 'someone' died in this one. I was really hoping for an alternative fairy-tale ending but alas...
Speaking of keeping in line, the book DID follow the final Republic Commando game events, though not 100%. In the game, there was no mention of Etain as mission commander for Delta during the Kasshyk campaign, and the book failed to mention anything about the 'Advisor' clone trooper that was always present in the game to met out intel and deliver op instructions to Delta Squad. Still it did follow...loosely.
Good news for the RC fans though! Looks like there's another book coming out from what I've read at the end of Order66.
More to come, Vode!

yup...too many loose ends left untied...there maybe another book..i'm looking forward to it..
Maybe the advisor clone trooper is Captain Maze? I'm not sure..never played the game before..
Maybe Ordo and Besany can be the fairy tale ending..but nothing beats a Jedi and Clone commando couple

No, its not Maze. The Advisor sports standard white phase 2 armor. Maze wears typical ARC trooper armor with a kama.Sev-like wrote:Maybe the advisor clone trooper is Captain Maze? I'm not sure..never played the game before..
Yeah, I think so too, but its still better than a clone commando + twi'lek couple. lolSev-like wrote:Maybe Ordo and Besany can be the fairy tale ending..but nothing beats a Jedi and Clone commando couple
