Darth Who? - NAME THE NEWEST SITH LORD!

Post by JediJean » Wed Oct 04, 2006 12:20 pm

Hi guyz,

Got this in my email today, just thought I'd spread the word......

STAR WARS NEWSLETTER - OCTOBER 2006 - DARTH WHO?

Darth Who? - Name the Newest Sith Lord!

What's in a name? A great deal, indeed, for those who choose to take that final, fateful step and join the dark side! Each and every Dark Lord of the Sith must leave behind their old identity-and old name-in order to assume a moniker befitting their fearsome new status. As it was for Darth Bane, Darth Sidious, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, and a long line of dark disciples before them...so it is now, for Jacen Solo. But what name shall he take to seal his allegiance to the dark side? How shall he be hailed by those who honor, respect, and fear him? Now, YOU have a chance to be part of Star Wars history. Because this time, this privilege of naming the newest Sith Lord...is YOURS.

One Grand Prize winner will have his or her Sith name featured as the official character name in Star Wars: Legacy of the Force: Sacrifice by Karen Traviss. The Grand Prize winner will be recognized on the acknowledgement page of the aforementioned book.

I read about this in the latest issue of Insider #90.

If I am not wrong, you will be selecting the name for Jacen Solo, the latest in line who will turn to the dark side.

Bummer. Nuts that they should limit themselves to US residents.

Hmmm... maybe that's why it's only open to US residents only?!??

For awhile I got so excited when I received this in my email... unfortunately, in my excitement, I didn't get around to reading the fine print... oh well.

It would certainly be amusing to see a Sith Lord being named after a local dish... Darth Ice-Kachang... the Sith Lord who lives on Hoth... along with his apprentice Darth Chendol... LOL!

Well, since we can't really participate in this contest, maybe we can just use this thread in a creative manner, to try to think of all the names that we could possibly come up with, and perhaps a little bit of background info about your fictitious Sith Lord character.

Interesting, this could be...... :P

Just to clarify, I chose local names because of Star Wars contain a lot of local sounding names. These probably sound exotic to others.

I suspect a proper name would sound dark, real dark like

Darth Vicious
Darth Berserker
Darth Savage
Darth Vehement
Darth Demoniac

Or possibly a corruption of the words.

Hmmm OK, I'm not sure what's scarier... that GL would actually consider using dim sum names, or that some of these names that you listed actually sound pretty good!

P/S: Or perhaps it could be that it's midnight, I'm still at work, and I haven't had my dinner yet... so maybe those names are just sounding pretty appealing to me right now... hahahah!
