Post by dranoel » Sun Aug 17, 2008 12:09 am

This topic is for discussing the new Clone Wars movie.

It is likely to contain spoilers if you have not watched the movie yet.

So read on only if you have watched the movie, or don't mind "previewing" bits of the movie.

You have probably heard by now that there will not be the 20th Century Fox openining fanfare that we have all been so accustomed to... now that the Clone Wars movie is distributed by Warner Brothers instead.

But fret not... you are not going to see the Looney Tunes opening sequence... nor will you get Porky Pig popping up at the end with his signature "That's all, folks!"

It was also a little strange not to see the opening crawl. Instead, you hear the narrator in a somewhat hurried manner, bringing you up to speed to the current point where the movie begins.

When the official site released the short clip on the Battle of Christophsis, I was wondering if that would have been too much of a spoiler. I was also worried that the revealed clip may have been all that there was to the exciting battle scenes. Well, I can now safely say that my enjoyment of the movie was not marred as there was quite a lot more action than just the revealed clip. Clones Vs Droids... Jedi Vs Sith... Jedi Vs Droids... more than enough action :)

It's interesting to witness the relationship and bond between Jedi (Kenobi and Skywalker) & Clone (Rex, Cody, Oddball... mainly Rex). Then there's the relationship between "Skyguy" and "Snips"... and "Stinky" too

Jar Jar Binks is in the movie!..... Not!!! (he will be in the follow-up series though)
For now, comic relief is provided by the Battle Droids... and Jawas.

Are there any easter eggs in the movie? I did not notice any, other than the appearance of R2-KT, which has already been discussed by many online. Maybe when I watch the movie again, I might spot some... I hope.

I did not see or read this post.................
"The Darkside of the force is a pathway to many abilities that some consider to be unnatural.....is it possible to learn those powers? YES, Not from a Jedi..."

I couldn't stop laughing when Kenobi told the Sepper general to stop and have a little chat and "discuss" the terms for his troops surrender when in actual fact he was just stalling for time so that Skyguy & Snips could destroy the shield generator.

And the opening crawl replaced by a narrator was kinda different but cool.
"This threshold is mine. I claim it for my own. Bring on your thousands, one at a time or all in a rush. I don't give a damn. None shall pass."
"I'm not a Jedi. I'm just a man with a lightsaber... and a few questions.."

Well, I guess there are Jedi mind tricks... and then there are just plain old tricks too

When Yoda and Mace Windu decided that between themselves, Yoda would lead the reinforcements to Christophsis, can you recall what Mace Windu's mission was supposed to have been? I'd thought that we would see more of him again towards the latter part of the movie...

The trailer sure was deceiving.
Coz it feels like Ventress was gonna kill Rex.

Good thing Skyguy didn't fall for that trick.

I can't recall what Windu's original mission was.

And I think Amidala is so extra in the movie.

I wonder what happened to Snips after the movie....hope she didn't die during order 66.. but then, she wouldn't be forgotten by Skyguy, would she?

I suppose there're no decapitations and amputations either?

Jabba's son "Stinky" got better after receiving medication and was well when he was returned to Jabba...

Decapitation? In fact, there was one I remember distinctly... when a Clone stood up and had his head popped off by the advancing Battle Droids :!:

There could be lotsa droids decapitated.... Heads shot off by blasters..

Was there the Skyguy-riding-on-a-gigantic-fly scene at Teth? Sheez..should really watch the movie already.. The novel's not bad anyway...kinda short...
How long was the movie?
