As for Star Trek, it has to be tech-savvy. No tech= not a good Star Trek. From the increasingly huge amount of fans of BSG, the writers seem did a wonderful job at recreating the story.Dr EMH wrote:Indeed.Impulse wrote:In fact, the lack of technology in some sci-fi shows can make it boring and depressing, all it takes to change the mindset of 'boring' is to have a good storyline.
The lack of technology also restricts the creative juice of the writers as well ... imagine how one can ever create any good ST storyline without warp 9.9+, shield, tractor beam, replicator, holodeck, etc.

This is one thing I strongly agree with you. BSG is all about the human spirit, the will to survive in the face of unimaginable obstacles, and not being able to use the resources available to them because it'll only cause them to be defeated.Impulse wrote:From the increasingly huge amount of fans of BSG, the writers seem did a wonderful job at recreating the story.
And yet, despite the odds, they're forging forward, bit by bit, slowly but surely.
A good human spirit story will always have an audience.
Finally, it's coming to free-to-air broadcast TV
