Star Trek is celebrating it's 40th Anniversary this year ... Paramount is going to auction off 4,000 Star Trek props, costumes, accessories, etc. for an estimated sum of over US$3 millions, and has appointed the world renowned auction house Christie's to be its auctioneer.

This morning I have just ordered a copy of the 40th Star Trek Anniversary Auction Catalogue from Christie's. :D
(even the catalogue is not free ... but i reckon this is the only item i can affort to buy, hehe ...) :lol:

2-Volume Catalogue Set: £51.00
Shipping and Handling: £15.00
Total cost: £66.00 (nearly S$200)


Why payment in £ Pounds Sterling?

Orders shipped to North or South America will be charged in US dollars. Orders shipped to the European Union will be charged in Euros. All other orders will be charged in UK pounds sterling! :(

This pre-ordered catalogues will ship 3-4 weeks prior to the sale. The auction is scheduled on 5-7 Oct 2006 at NY.

Christie's Star Trek auction ended yesterday (or Sat in NY).

The most expensive auction was a 78" Enterprise-D model sold for US$576,000 (nearly S$1 million!)

1. Starship Enterprise E - US$132,000 (US$8,000 - US$12,000)
2. 30" Borg cube model - US$96,000 (US$1,000 - US$1,500)
3. 42" (107-cm) bazooka-style prop rifle used by Worf in ST:Ins - US$19,200 (US$600 - US$800)
4. Ron Perlman's vinyl jumpsuit from ST:Nem - US$6,000
5. Captain Picard's ST:FC uniform: US$15,000 (US$8,000)
6. Picard's Enterprise-E Captain's chair - US$52,000 (US$7,000 - US$8,000)
7. Two prop wine bottles of "Chateau Picard" - US$5,500 (US$500 - US$700)
8. Worf's isomagnetic disintegrator rifle - US$16,000
9. Borg alcove: US$8,000 (US$700)
10. Borg mannequin: US$9,000 (US$800)
11. Worf's Klingon baldric sash: US$3,200 (US$300)
12. Six Romulan Senate chairs: US$1,900 (US$800)

The auction ended with a total sale of US$7,107,040 (or S$11.4millions).
