Malaysia's Biggest Movie Event Ever!

Youth marketing and PR agency, Mypartners Communications and Malaysiaâ€™s most comprehensive movie resource, Cinema Online today launched Movie Carnival 2006 at Berjaya Times Square.
Movie Carnival 2006 is Malaysia's first all-movie showcase and preview of everything and anything movies, particularly upcoming blockbusters for 2006. Held on April 22 â€“ 23 (Saturday and Sunday), 2006 at Berjaya Times Square, the event is set to be the biggest movie event ever held in Malaysia.
Mr. Chin Vin Sen, Director of Cinema Online said at the media conference, â€œThis is the 10th year that Cinema Online has been serving cinema-goers in Malaysia, whether online, on mobile, in events or through our magazine. Now, Cinema Online, as co-organiser of the Movie Carnival 2006, is proud to bring Malaysian cinema-goers an even richer experience with an event that will showcase everything, anything on movies.â€?
Mr. Patrick Wee, Managing Director of Mypartners Communications added, â€œWe are really thrilled about this inaugural event and we have every intention to turn this into an annual affair for all Malaysians who canâ€™t get enough of movies.â€?
Movie Showcase & Preview
The inaugural event will for the first time, bring together all major movie distributors, movie sponsors and licensees to showcase the biggest feature films of the year. Movie fans can catch a glimpse of what they can expect to see from much anticipated movies like X-Men â€“ The Last Stand , Poseidon, Superman Returns, The Omen, Garfield 2, Mission Impossible 3, Over the Hedge, Cars, Pirates of the Caribbean 2, Dragon Tiger Gate (Chinese), Re-Cyle (Chinese) and many more.
In conjunction with the Movie Carnival, GSC Berjaya Times Square will offer all shows at RM 6.00 per ticket before 12 noon. There will also be a special preview screening of horror film, The Hills Have Eyes on Sunday at the Cineplex sponsored by GSC and Twentieth Century Fox. To find out how to win passes to the preview screening, watch out for announcements in the media. Also watch out for a movie forum during the event that will be organised and moderated by GSC which operates the largest chain of cineplexes in the country.
Through a partnership with eBay in Malaysia, the Official Online Auction Partner for Movie Carnival 2006, the organisers will also be making it possible for movie fans to bid for exclusive imported movie merchandise and gala premiere tickets one week prior to the event. Starting bid for these auctions on eBay.com.my will be at RM $1. There will also be bidding stations with broadband access set up during the two day event. All proceeds from the auction will be channelled to Protect and Save the Children (P.S. the Children), a non-profit organization, whose primary aim is the prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse. P.S. the Children will also make available teddy bears for sale during the event under their â€œAdopt a Bear and Speak for the Childrenâ€? campaign.
Among the contributors for auction items confirmed during the time of printing include Ultimate Toys, United International Pictures (Malaysia) and Cinema Online.
Movie Carnival 2006 promises an exciting and unique experience for movie fans as loads of activities and events have been lined up. Some of the highlights at the event include:

Movie Carnival 2006 will be held at Berjaya Times Square, Lower Ground Concourse on April 22 â€“ 23 between 10:00am to 10:00pm daily. Entrance to the event is FREE.
