When it comes to star wars comics, which era best suit your reading preferences?

I voted for the Republic Era. For me comics are at their best when they fit in the movies' timeframe themselves, expanding on bits of story plots. Another reason is the character of Quinlan Vos (the quintessential star wars character), which made reading it all worthwhile.

Based on my past postings, I prefer Clone Wars comics.

...most of the stuff I had were SW Clone Wars TPBs, so I'd say they're a clear favorite. How do we classify Star Wars Tales?

Tales would have to go under infinities though it was revamped for the last few issues to actually fit into the continuity. Most of the earlier stories, I feel, are more along the lines of "wouldnt it be cool if..". It was great while it lasted

I prefer Dark Horse to Marvel too. Their storylines are better crafted and each era has something unique and distinct to offer

I'm currently reading Clone Wars but have not gotten up to speed yet. Just finished Vol. 3 and 4. Also got the Empire series and can't wait to get onto that.

I can't believe how expensive the TPBs have gotten.

In that case, I'd put another vote in to nudge the INFINITIES meter a bit. I totally dig the STAR WARS TALES comics. Too bad it got discontinued, especially after the quality of artwork and stories got way better during its last few issues.

You're in for a wild ride ahead! Loved the brawls between the Alpha / Anakin / Obi Wan / Durge / Ventress a lot. Yup, its a real thermal blast in the face when you see today's prices for SW tpbs, but I still fork the money over at the store counter for my SW fix.
