Remember the Feeling?

Post by Gandalf Fett » Fri Aug 05, 2005 4:10 pm

I was just playing my Episode I DVD and I come to realise that when re-watching Ep I, no matter how crap the movie truly is, some things really do stand out.

The integrity and presence of Qui-Gon Jinn;
The music;
The three way lightsaber battle;
THAT FEELING when you watch the words "A long time ago in a Galaxy far far away" and seeing the opening crawl;
THAT FEELING when you first watched the teaser, trailer and TV spots;
The FIRST mid-night sale at TRU;
The queue for the movie tickets;
The "I need to find a nice SW t-shirt to wear to the screening" anxiety;

Sigh... that was fun then.

No doubt about it, casting Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon was one of George Lucas better moves. He is truly a great actor.
As you can see, my Jedi powers are far beyond yours. Now, back down.

Beautiful post, gandalf . I still think that Episode I was very special . I remember when R2D2 made his first appearance in that film..... the theatre exploded into applause.

Hey, I don't even really mind Jake Lloyd's acting in that,I think that poor kid tried his best, or JarJar Binks for that matter ! :D

and if you think that Ep I experience was something - remember back when we (for those of us who are in that age group) what the feeling was like when we first watched Episode IV?

Magic. Pure magic.

Nostalgia - dangerous thing
