Hi All,

It depends on how much you are making it yourself and how much RC and electronics you want to include.

If you build everything yourself and had no electonics the cost would be in the few hundred range.

At the other extreme, if you got on all the part runs and had all kinds of electronics it could cost you over US $3,000.

Icemann,

To get 10 people...it could really work . ( good idea ) :D

I've just got access to the blue prints in astromech.net. Let me see if it's possible to get someone in Singapore to make the aluminium parts. Can probably save more. Will need to get it approved to make sure it is R2builder-quality.

also..

since we are discussing this project.. r2's got a variety of retractable arm functions.. in addition to him rolling around.. i wonder if there might be some additonal functions that we might like to consider putting our astromech droid 8)

I've done some research, and the cost of building one range from few hundred to few thousand. The difference in price depends on factors such as static vs RC R2; wood or aluminium, etc.

I'm trying to see if we can get someone local to make the parts, so if you have worked with anyone or any company that does metal work, please let me know.....
