Sounds like a good opportunity to crack a few tinnies.

I met a droid builder from the UK and he said the most expensive item was the dome (approx USD500).

Does anyone know what parts we need for a complete R2?

Are there any plans/parts lists available?

Based on that list, we'd be looking at $3.5k

Here's a list from astromech.net

Depending on what the droid is made of (eg. aluminum or wood), the price really varies. Fully aluminum ones can go all the way to $10k

Wow! USD$3.5k to USD$5k is still affordable if we split the cost and work involved.

sounds fun. a radio controlled r2 will be pretty fun. lolz
