New Biker Scout helmet

Post by Paul K » Tue Dec 12, 2006 8:17 am

Hi all,

I finally finished working on my new scout trooper bucket. This is a fiberglass MLC V.2 and it came in kit form. After hours of sanding, applying putty and painting, it's finally done and ready for trooping next weekend.

As far as possible, weapons to remain holstered, ie. no BFGs.

Force pike, lightsabers, holstered scout blaster and holstered E11... all okay.

Thanks Des.

I might just give the weapon a miss.

I'm going to let it get bang up a bit during trooping sessions to get the "battle worn" look over time.

What would trooping be without a little battle damage from my brothers. Maybe you guys can rub the top of my helmet for good weather every time we troop.

Thanks for sharing with us on your upgraded Biker Scout Helmet to this Fibreglass MLC V.2, from your existing (Rubies? :P) bucket. :)

Does the kit come complete with the Interior Helmet liner and padding too? And what is that
lightblue substance that you have used to affixed your Helmet's lenses?

Yup, the old one was a Don Post.

The kit came without the helmet liner and padding. Raw kit. The lens glue is an organic 2-part glue made from Yak's saliva and hardened with an epoxy resin.

Just kidding Peter...it's just regular hot glue. The camera flash just made it look blue. It's same hot glue for the screen covering which looks purple.

If anybody wants a really strong glue, I have some jawa 2-part epoxy for sale. Trade one R2 for a case of the foul smelling stuff.
