Saw this at a shop in Sunshine plaza. Looks good for some props making. Much cheaper than those 200+ one...

I got a China made one for less then $50 in Pasar Road, KL. However I'm now thinking of getting a Dremel becaue there's really no substitude for quality, especially if you want to do really fine work.

Dremel for me. I only recently found out that Bosch owns dremel as well. Figures. Anyway, me a little slow these days. Mine has a variable speed on it so that helps quite a bit.

Here's an idea for a new TV show called "Help that costumer". Every week, a forum member with a costume gets visited by starwars.sg where the trooping "old birds" come and help make their suits better, with tools or suggestions. haha

Heh. I could almost visualise two Modern Talking rejects [ala Designer Guys] bringing the weekly guest to tailor uniform, choose PVC pipes for D.I.Y. blasters, etc.

Actually, that does sound really cool! 8)

Instead of having a Project Runway type of show, we could have our own version that combines both fashion skills and costume making skills (which are pretty much inter-related anyways), and help others make their existing costumes better, or help them to make the costume of their dreams from scratch (and to be fair, in this case, funding is to come from the person who will eventually own the costume)... wah cool! 8)

Oops, just realised we are kinda going off-topic here... now back to the tools......

It'd be a good idea if adhesives and putty are able to harden instanteously... Else it would take more than a day of work...

As for the dremel, I'm okay with pitching in... But we'll need to consider certain 'what ifs' when sharing something that can break down and require replacement cutting discs...

What is the other end of singapore when we are the other side of the galaxy?

But I guess you all could establish a "workshop" in the home of someone who's centrally located.
