Hi everybody,

I'm in NIE getting my postgrad diploma in education and there's a module that we have called Group Endeavours in Service Learning (GESL for short...not that it makes it cooler... ;P).

Anyways in this module we have to work towards performing a service to the community, preferably education-based, and I got this idea from the 501st forums.

Our plan is to design a series of school assemblies teaching primary school kids things like cybersafety, Civic mindedness, traffic safety, etc... with a twist. The twist being that we involve movie characters in skits for the kids. I felt that the kids would probably be able to interact better with SW (and other) characters better than simply listening to someone preach on stage.

I was just wondering if anybody here would be interested in a project like this. Its just at its brainstorming stage right now so if anybody is interested I can feedback to my group the feasibility of something like this. :D

Cheers,

Shawn

Ah well... We had our main group discussion and we presented our plans but lost out to another idea involving scouts. :P

But the show of interest from this group tells me that this is definitely a possibility for costumers here. I'm sure there're a number of teachers in this forum. :) I think most schools have the problem of finding people or organisations to come down for their assembly sessions. :)

Thanks people. :D
