Ol'Dan's low-budget TIE pilot commpad

Using some reference photos found online and those taken at the Art Of Star Wars exhibition in Singapore, I drafted out a blueprint for my commpad as a vector file. Size is 6 x 7cm:





The commpad components are cut from cardboard. Did a frame with masking tape facing the front. Stuck the components onto it for easy spray painting:



The components are then glued to a 6x7cm thick artcard backing. The coloured bits are cut out from thin artcard with a glossy finish. I made a frame around the commpad. I sandwiched the artcard assembly between two transluscent flexible plastic sheets (cut to size):



By placing a transluscent plastic sheet over the commpad components, I gave my commpad a 'touch sensor control' appearance for a personal touch

Adhesive velcro will be applied to the bottom of the commpad to attach it to the sleeve of my flightsuit.

Wah, great work, as always! That's some fancy cutting on such a small area!

And again, saved me a whole lot of work

Personally I'd get this laser cut out of perspex if I had my way (and the money)
