and personally I feel - this about the rank plaque - if you just compare your own with theirs...
between dull, squishy (foam?) and shiny LED & backing the obvious one you would pick is = ?

Yes Mirador, I do believe its foam.
I won't know 'bout the quality of their Rebel costumes. Don't look good anyway.

The costumes from Costumebase are more for Halloween - they don't pass 501st standards. Maybe the Imperial Officer cap and if you have a lenient Membership Officer, then the belt is fine too.

CostumeBase and Pan-In-The-Box...........
Well, certain things are "okay" to use for our need like the Black Imperial Officer Hat but rest is only if you want to use it as a "costume" and not to register into 501st or IMHO, Rebel Legion.
I must confess, I have the Vinyl Jedi Belt and Foam Jedi Pouches from 2006 and been wanting to get one of the Jedi Costume for years, to use for my "other" Jedi Outfit. But personally, I highly recommend interested people should get their costumes tailored instead.
Ya, it might be pricer BUT you have total control over the design, material used and personal customization.
Just remember to do your research first and ask those already in the know-how so won't cock-up.

The belts where the ones that got my eye on it the Boba Fett one.
(was thinking of using that for my photoshoots).
(and Ankin's belt for my other costum)
But for a Officer wear at around $75US.... True is to get it tailor on your own is better.

It is do not look like real leather. the only thing about that ebay is good for the small small parts.

I think what Sev-like (Ron, right? :S) ment is that the CB rank bar is made of foam.

Nono.. not saying that Mirador's ran bar is foam. Have seen it personally, first hand. Meant that what Mirador thought the ebay rank bar is is right...It looks like its foam.
