Republic Commando Project

As promised, here are some photos of the newly started Republic Commando Project. 2 of our 501st members recently got their hands on a couple RC suits.

The suits came in kit form, untrimmed and pulled in 3mm thick HIPS plastic. Looking at the pieces, its looks like a huge undertaking, requiring at least 4 to 6 weeks to complete the whole get-up.

Today we started with the helmets. The helmets, like the armor came as a 2 piece vac-formed set, a front and a back.

We had to cut out the outline as it wasn't trimmed, and cut out the T-visor area. Next, a huge amount of bondo was used to seal up the seam area, which btw, did not match up and fit too well.

Here's are some pics of a helmet after the bondo. And more pics of the other helmet with some chrome paint sprayed on for fun! The helmets need ALOT more bondo work but its pretty late so we'll continue tomorrow or next week.

Its about USD$860 for a full set. I ordered just the helmet kit for USD$50. Shipping is separate.

Hey guys, sorry to dig up this old thread again..

I went all ra-ra over the RC armor after seeing the pics at the PA website.

Nearly died from nosebleeding from looking at the pics. :D

I'm thinking about building an RC after my NS, I know its a bit early, but I wanted to know if it's feasible. Like maybe the ease of getting the required parts?

Thanks bros...
