Modified Hasbro Stormtrooper blaster

Here are 3 easy things to do on a "off the shelf" Hasbro toy blaster:

1. Trim off the red "nose" and plug it with a resin casting. Mine came off a sterling. For those who don't know, the Stormtrooper blaster was made using a British WWII weapon called the Sterling L2A3.

2. I bought the front part of a folding stock, which was also casted off an actual Sterling. The back end of the folding stock was made from plastic sheet, heated up and then bent.

3. Putty up some holes, paint it black if you got the white version and here's the finished product in time for Chingay. I may do some more mods to it when I've more time OR better yet, build a 1:1 scale version. The Hasbro blaster is a bit undersized compared to the actual size version.

To add on to Paul's Tips, for the hardcore modifiers, and users of the Real World Sterling stocks and parts, this is what to do...

With the RW FULL stock, the Hasbro/Kenner blaster is a little short and will need to be extended. A PVC pipe will work for that. And as per Paul's advice, stick on the Sterling muzzle barrel tip. And if you have it, a the front sight. That can be either bought as a cast or be made from styrene. The front sight pictured was made from sterling blueprints and formed in hot water. ;)

Should you manage to accquire the actual Sterling mag well and shortened clip, with a dremel, remove part of the Hasbro/Kenner E-11 body, just forward, top off the left hand side of the blaster and affix the mag well onto it. Resin and fiberglass would be best, with a primary hold of cyanoacrylate, but bondo will work. :)

A light sanding, gray primer and a fresh coat of black paint, and you'll be good to go! Greeblies are up to you!

Enjoy!

Stay safe,

Tim.

P.S. You may wonder why I stated both the Hasbro/Kenner brands as only Hasbro makes em now, but the blaster you see posted, was my 1980's Kenner Blaster from when I was a kid. :)

Man, I used to have the Kenner Biker Scout blaster as well when I was a kid. Wished I had kept that too. Man, those Hasbro blasters are getting expensive. I paid $40 plus for mine about 6 months back.

My bad. I meant I paid $40 plus for the Hasbro Stormtrooper blaster, not the Biker Scout. Sorry for the mis-communication.

Heehee.....if I had been more thrifty and sensible back when we're on the Mailing List, I could had gotten the Kenner E-11 blaster too for just SGD25 when someone was clearing his SW Stuffs. Over a year ago, ended up paying around SGD40 for my Hasbro Clone Trooper one, and stuck with the Grievous/Chunky Battle Droid cause they came as a set to get lower price.

Thanks for posting the infos Paul and Tim.

Some of us gotten the Hasbro Clone/Stormtrooper Trooper Blaster, some like me from Simply Toys or other places or just try our luck at China Square Central.

Come worse, get from online places like eBay.

For the replica ones (which is illegal now to bring in last I heard) or its parts, from online.

And if you guys want to go one step further and make it even more accurate, grind off the 'fins', drill in the correct holes, and put some real ABS t-tracks on the barrel.

I'd check Simply Toys recently. They don't seem to have the rifles anymore. Not sure 'bout China Sq Central though.

Hi Sev-like, welcome to StarWars.sg :)
I think we just need to need to wait a few weeks... for the launch of the new toys on 26 July. The Stormtrooper blaster was one of the toy products that Hasbro displayed at last weekend's STCC
