Project Sandtrooper Backpack

Here are pictures of my latest project... A budget sandtrooper backpack... I wouldn't call it screen-accurate but I'm happy with it... Makes a nice display piece, since I don't own a Sandtrooper costume...

The backpack is about 80% complete, missing its harness and the white radar disc... Whole project should cost me SGD100, with half the cost coming from a branded backpack frame that I bought from the States... an impulse Ebay purchase...
The main boxes are plastic Toyogo 3316 File Cases (325mm x 280mm x 120 mm) that I found at Mustaffa SC and costing about SGD10 each. The other boxes are electronic project casings bought from shops in Sim Lim Tower. Other parts include vacuum cleaner hose attachments, PVC pipes of various sizes, plastic water bottles and plastic bowls.

I'm not familiar with the Sandtrooper backpack but with the vacuum hose attached to the left, the backpack reminds me of the nuclear accelerator backpacks worn by the Ghostbusters.

Looks great!
So is it functionable?

I read somewhere about some people from US using Tupperware (
or related) for theirs and they even show how they store their sandwiches and pepsi inside it.

Yes, both main boxes can still be opened. However, I've strapped the lower one for that movie look.

Nice work!
Even comes with its own rice bowl conveniently placed right on top for easy access without taking off the backpack!
Very handy during lunch break!
