Q&A and discussion on the Starwars.sg T-shirt

Post by dranoel » Mon Mar 20, 2006 11:10 pm

adamteo wrote:Dear all, we are calling for orders for our very own SW SG shirt.

Color to be confirmed, shd be black or white.....no multiple colors...haha..

Sizes will be ASIAN sizes (S, M, L, XL, XXL).

Pls post with the following details.

Name:

Shirt Size:

Qty:

We can only push down the price if the qty is big enough...meaning, more than 100 or so.

Once the qty is confirmed, we will require a deposit. Shirts will be distribute at a roll-call...as fun as we all are, pls be serious on your orders as the core team needs to pay for all outfront...

Offenders will face the wrath of the Emperor and Destroyer Droids.
Hi folks, to facilitate consolidation of the numbers and order details, we will keep the other thread purely for registering your orders. We will move the discussion here instead. Thanks for your understanding. :)

Oh i got a suggestion, if we pay a buck or 2 more, could we have our name and/or nick sewn on? My vietnam trip ppl made 20 tshirts and sewing on name only cost $2 each.

a couple of posts transferred from the other thread...

just my 2 cent. :D :D :D
we will take this into consideration, but would really depend on the total number of orders to provide bargaining power and flexibility in choice of t-shirts.

Another suggestion is to charge for the design so others can print on their
own t or polo shirt sizes they choose like what the Star Trek guys r doing
or charge them for the iron on prints only which would be much cheaper I think.

Iron-on transfer the cheapest I brought is HP 10 (+2 promotional package) at SGD 22.50. which comes to almost SGD2.00 Per A4 sheet.

This is limited to white T-shirts. On other colour T-shirts then be not so good.

Also must remember to design your logo or slogan with clear bold letters... smaller fonts tends to bunch up on printing on inkjet.

Lighter colour also preferred as printout tends to be darker than on screen.

There are also black T-shirts Iron-on... it cost more, nearly twice the price per sheet.

The above is through trial and error :P

I think with professional T-shirt printers they will do a better job, however the order have to be big else the cost/T-shirt will be higher. Most of the time for clubs, the organisers/admin/perm members will have to decide... make a huge number of T-shirts to lower the cost, then keep the unsold one for future uses.
Eg SW.sg total active members were to order around 20... it is best to do iron-ons... let say if 80 is buying then making another 20 extra to cut down the cost is quite justifiable. The 20 maybe brought by future members or as an extra.
Trust me princess~

I suggest that the colour should be other than black or white.

This is because moviemania uses black and startrek.com.sg generally uses white.

Why not try polo-Ts, collar black rim of the sleeves black, the rest of the polo-T white.
