Popcorn Gaming is organising CosCon@GCA..

They asked us to help advertise the event for them...

Winner in preferably Blizzard costumes gets an air ticket to BlizzCon in USA on Oct10 to Oct 11 ,2008.

2nd prize is now Nintendo Wii...

More prizes will be announced...by them soon.

MovieMania is not officially involved with the judging/ prizes in this event but have given them permission to use CosCon name. Popcorn Gaming has posted more details on their website.

CosCon @ Games Convention Asia 2008

Cosplaying is one of Asiaâ€™s most unique and visual events and Popcorn Gaming is pleased to announce CosCon at the Games Convention Asia this year at Suntec City Public Exhibition Hall on 20th September at 2pm - 4pm. Itâ€™s a chance for you to pay homage to your favourite character and bring them to life for all to see!

Dress up as one of your favourite TV/ Movie /Game/Anime character and stand a chance to win lots of fabulous prizes including a Nintendo Wii. No age, gender or nationality limits are imposed and we welcome everyone or anyone with a costume to come and participate!

Whether you're competing or just interested in the show, we invite you to come see Cosplaying personified at its best by fans of all ages and types, grab a photo and be mesmerized by the costumes presented by the dedicated Cosplayers!

Pre Register

All entrants that are taking part in the event must pre register with us to signal their intent to compete. This is to facilitate a smooth, on-time show and also allows us to settle the paperwork beforehand and ensure minimal queues on that day itself.

Registration for the said event is free of charge and non registered users will not be allowed to take part in the CosCon event.

Registration is open now! Registration closes on 19th September 2008 midnight.

Judging

Judging will be based on the following breakdown
o Costume Accuracy 30%
o Role-play Accuracy 30%
o Performance Flair 20%
o Audience Response 10%
o Blizzard Theme 10%

We will like all participants to note that having a Blizzard themed costume will carry an additional weightage of 10% in the competition. We hope that all competitors will understand that as this is World of Warcraft event, additional marks will be given to Cosplayers who comes in any character from the Blizzard universe i.e Starcraft, Diablo and Warcraft.

Winners will be decided at the sole discretion of the panel of Judges with the above factors taken into consideration.

Rules and Regulations

ïƒ˜ Contestants are to ready 30mins before stage time (130pm).
ïƒ˜ Contestants will be introduced on stage one at a time.
ïƒ˜ Contestants will introduce themselves and the characters they are cosplaying
ïƒ˜ They will be given 20 seconds to strike poses for the cameras and convince the judges to keep them for the 2nd round.
ïƒ˜ Judges will be given some time to deliberate on which 10 contestants to keep.
ïƒ˜ Contestants will be eliminated 2 at a time.
ïƒ˜ The remaining 10 contestants will be given more stage time to act out their roles and impress the audience.
ïƒ˜ The remaining contestants should be prepared for questions like â€œ Why do you deserve to winâ€

Look for PopCorn Gaming booth and register as contestant if you want.

U can also put your stuff there if u need to change.
