Star Wars fans,
If you haven't heard... the Singapore Toy & Comic Convention [ http://www.sgtoyandcomiccon.com/index.html ] will be held at Suntec City next weekend 28 & 29 June 2008. And Star Wars fans are in for a treat!

From the moment the event kicks off on Saturday, witness the Imperial March by the 501st Legion in the Official Opening Show. Then pop over to the 501st Legion – Singapore Garrison (Booth B15) to find out more about these awesome bad guys who do good. While you are there, sign up for the Droid Hunt, and look forward to being spotted by the patrolling troopers later in the afternoon.

You will also want to visit the Hasbro (Booth E01) where you can get a sneak peek into the upcoming release of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars line of toys. Toys and memorabilia from the personal collections of fellow Star Wars fans will also be on display in the Collectors Corner.

Don't forget to count, count, and recount the number of Stormtroopers and Clone Troopers on display, and stand to Win yet-to-be-released Star Wars: The Clone Wars toys. And if you think you know everything there is to know about Star Wars, you can also take up the challenge in the Star Wars Quiz Show on Sunday.

Beside Star Wars, this inaugural Singapore Toy & Comic Convention will also feature a host of toys (general and designer), comics, animation, gaming, design, licensing and Cosplay from creative minds from all over the world. Our friends from Moviemania are also holding CosCon at the convention. http://www.sgtoyandcomiccon.com/coscon.html

Here's some info from this afternoon's press release:
• Get a sneak peak into Hasbro’s much anticipated upcoming new release STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS before its global launch on July 26, 2008.

• Fans are about to travel to a galaxy far, far away as never before, and once again, Hasbro — as it has for more than 30 years — will translate all the excitement of the brand new STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS into toys that bring this new animated action to life.

• On the front lines of an intergalactic struggle between good and evil, fans young and old will join favourite characters such as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padmé Amidala, along with brand new heroes like Anakin’s padawan learner, Ahsoka. Sinister villains led by Palpatine, Count Dooku and General Grievous are poised to rule the galaxy. Stakes are high, and the fate of the Star Wars universe rests in the hands of the daring Jedi Knights. Their exploits lead to the action-packed battles and astonishing new revelations that fill STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS. Watch out for the theatrical release in August 2008.

• Collector’s Corner: marvel at the toys that have accompanied the Star Wars Trilogies from local collectors themselves, dating back to back to 1977 and spanning 30 years.

• Look out for the largest diorama display of Stormtroopers in the Emperor's Arrival Scene.

• Lifetime chance to win the entire Star Wars Clone Wars toys that are exhibited in a Q&A contest!

• Star Wars Quiz Show By Hasbro: The Star Wars Quiz Show by Hasbro will be open to all loyal fans of the Star Wars saga. Groups of contestants will be invited onstage in a battle of wits, to prove their extensive knowledge of the Star Wars universe. The Star Wars Quiz Show by Hasbro will be a welcome test for all true Star Wars fans who dare to step up to the challenge!
No prizes for guessing whose collection will be on display in the Emperor's Arrival Scene
