SEJA Knighting Ceremony

alright, updates to the ceremony.

Hence i went down to Clementi NPC to enquire about the permit. the ppl there didn't know, and called and refered me to this person incharge of licenses and permits, CMO Bob Ong. after hearing out what was planned. photography, filming and lots of ppl in costume, he said it wasn't necessary.

then NParks called Azmi on his enquiry on whether any other permit was needed, and the person said that nothing else is necessary BUT we are still to check with the police concerning permits. since that was done before, everything checks out.

for those who's still worried can check with NParks @ 64653323 concerning this event, or for Desmond, he can directly check with CMO Bob Ong.

now that we've gotten the clearance and what nots out of the way, the event is this coming sunday, and i've yet to receive a single costumer to take part in this event from this side. so any takers? really appreciate if ppl would attend, regardless of whatever starwars costume you will be wearing..

again, the event take place for around an hr at most, so as not to take up most of your time.

Abang Faiz,

I advised you to check with Central Police Div... Not Clementi... Your venue is under the jurisdiction of Central Police Div, so its better for the CMO of that division to acknowledge your event... better in black & white... Cos at the end of the day, if the cops get called in, they wouldn't be able to accept your word as the gospel truth and they wouldn't be contacting Clementi either...

correct that's when i called them. then the bugger on the phone said that i don't need a license and i can go to any NPC to ask/apply for permit, no need to go down direct to cantoment. so i went to clementi npc to apply, yet the ppl there dunno, so they refered me to central's cmo, the bob ong, who then told me it wasn't necessary

coz it was late already, so i told him i want to apply, but he kept telling that whatever i'm holding doesn't constitute an assembly, which in turn said doesn't require a permit.

If the CMO is from Central, then you're all set to go... I can't confirm yet as the 501st Legion might have a deployment this Sunday... Will post my attendance asap.

oh and here's another update, i checked with MDA concerning the event as well, whether it was needed to apply for arts entertainment licence, and i've received the reply as follows. and since there won't be a performance, the licence then is not necessary..

Dear Faiz,

Could I double-check if there is going to be any performance? If not, there is no need to apply for an arts entertainment licence.

right now we know the knighting ceremony attempts to recreate the throne room scene in ANH. But can you fill us in on details of the proceedings?

E.g.

1700 - 1710: March to Memorial Park
1710 - 1720: Costumers stand in line, awaits SEJA Master Jedi
1720 - 1725: Short speech by SEJA Master Jedi
etc
