Just saw your cool report about this year's SW Weekend at Orlando.
Holy shit-take mushrooms, way to go dude! Gonna add SW Weekends to my list of reasons.

Maybe we should start entering every single draw that give away free money (or car or Condo etc) prize and try our luck in lottery, 4D and Toto here and there.

It is almost half a year ago when this was last discussed. Now it is actually 3 months away and about 5 weeks to get the discount tickets for SW.com members. So its time to revisit this.
There are 4 days badge (USD 110) and 1 day one . After End Mar, tickets will only be sold on actual days. The 4 days badge entitles SW.com member to enter during the exclusive day on May 24th. Click here

Good hotels that are recommended (with discount for SW.member) by the organizers are being sold out fast. The nearest walking distance hotel, Holiday Inn City Centra, available in this morning throughout the event period is left only with 2 dates about 1 hour ago!.

I have done some checks and estimates per pax for Celebration 4 alone:
Cheaping rates for return airfare (China Airlines) : about SGD 1.45K with tax and other chargers. SIA add $800.

Found some budget hotel 4 miles away: for 5 days (May 23 Wed evening to May 28 Mon ) with Tax. SGD 700.

Celebration 4 Ticket: about SGD 180. (given that SW fan will get the 4days one)
So with airport transfers and meals. ...SGD 500.

My estimate for Celebration 4 alone will be 2.7K. Most likely one will not miss Disney Star Wars weekend and Universal studio so add tickets/ transport. S$400. Oh, all that is without any SW hunting.

Anyone keen to go?

Strange...when I did an estimate for C3 the amount I came up with was almost USD4K. Forgot where I put that Excel file now...

The gap could be I am looking at budget airfare and hotel.

...I read back that I should set up stall and sell my SW for this. I did but half way turned to the dark side.

transport is something u cannot reckon with...renting a car during the C4 and SW weekend will cost u the cheapest 170usd per day without GPS. with GPS is 240USD that will round up like a total of 5 days and that cost u another rough 1k USD

Food wise, even if u try to restraint and share, for e.g. mcdonald is 6 USD per meal and mutiply lunch and dinner and by 5 days u end up another 100 USD and beer drinking with troopers don; expect to be cheapo to get someone buy u drinks, everyone chip in and is aint cheap

so go figure urselves

I think i will rather do an event in singapore and invite everyone to come...lol

Hmm .. Tempting to go but virtually no way for me to go there.

a) My parent's don't have the money for this holiday
b) A 13 year old going to LA alone?
c) LA's not so safe ..
d) I don't have the free time to go there.

However . I still have one chance .
My birthday is in May 20th .

So maybe ....
