At the Fanboys Blog Aloud preview screening, I shared about a fellow fan who wanted to join us for the movie but was unable to do so due to his medical condition. To respect his privacy, I shall refer to him as J.

We appreciate the effort of the folks at GV who managed to get us the Fanboys movie poster. And we are especially encouraged by all who signed the poster and penned their well-wishes... Indeed, true to the spirit of Fanboys.

We had the poster framed, and a group of fans visited J this afternoon to present the gift on everyone's behalf. I could not be there in person due to my cough, but I am told J was very touched and appreciative of the kind thoughts from the community of fans.

This thread is dedicated to J. Let us continue to offer our encouragement to J as he remains strong through his chemotherapy treatments and perseveres in his battle against leukemia

Dear all,

I am J - Jim. I wasnt really a forumer here but know some of the brudders here by face and thru Sgcollect.com.

I was diagnosed with acute leukaemia late last year. No signs, no symptoms no identifable causes. One day I was healthy, the next day I was not.

I have been warded since and my movement has been restricted by drip stand. I am under chemo now to sustain me until a bone marrow transplant is possible. The hospital is doing a world wide search for me now.

starwars.sg/501st legion surprised me last week with a visit and a gift. I do not know how to express my appreciation of the visit but my wife and I are both very touched by the community.

Thank you Recon, Gordonator, Frodo, Naruto, Weirdo and hbng for visiting and the ppl who autographed the movie poster. Thank you Recon for organising.

I hope to be able join the community again one day.

Please dun think anything of it as its just a small gesture from our hearts. I just initiated the idea and the rest could not be done or accomplished w/o the help of bros and sis here
