Hey does S'pore girls still put the 5 Cs(or is it 6 Cs?) as a priority for selecting a potential mate nowadays?

We only need a max of 3 Cs, so a bit easier for us...ha ha ha  :P

According to my friends, age 17-18, they claimed that they want these type of guys:
- Must be handsome/cute
- Tall
- Must take care of them all the time
- $$$ factor is duh...

I had refrained from commenting as I see differences in my wife and my daughter, that is, comparing past and present, comparing as objectively as possible.

Although I cannot help but to agree with the comments made here but I like to point out that there are exceptions.

Also, I need to remind all that men are not much different either.

Young boys love the idea of having a girl friend, better still if cute and pretty, something to brag about, particularly if you are in NS. Those who are seriously looking for a wife would want to look for woman with certain attributes they like, not excluding look beautiful, demure, cute, curves in the right places, etc., however, if they are socialising, the woman they meet are likely to be the outgoing ones, most likely will say what they have in their mind.

If man can accept such woman with an open mind, I guess he will be ok.

Woman looking for husband will most likely look for man who can support them and give them certain comforts but not every woman does that as some can already support themselves and their husbands if necessary. If you wish to determine what kind of attributes, in a strange way, look to the animal kingdom, they provide clues about human behaviour.
Find, fix, finish

Agreed with lhs above.

The way I see it, different stages of life calls for different expectations and needs and yet, with my encounters, discussions and observations with my social circle, it does appear that there is a great divergence between what both sexes want and are able to give (more so in the young).

Materiality figures in greatly but coupled with the desire to be independent as well. Two extreme poles being forced together.

Western media and idealistic visions of what romance and love is supposed to be is driving a bigger wedge between reality and expectation.

That is not to say that the above is in fact the true reflection of the reality here but it certainly FEELS like it is becoming the norm.

More often than not, this is why there is this HUGE concern over the population statistics here.

No one's posted in this Valentine's Day thread for 3 years ?

I guess that proves the widespread rumour that us Star Wars nerds have no love life and that we reproduce by our preferred mode of propagation.... Cloning .
