Delta Squad Mini-Bust to be released by Gentle Giants!

Post by dr34m » Fri Jun 19, 2009 9:32 am

Delta Squad was an elite heavily armored clone commando unit that carried out demanding missions for the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. The unit played instrumental roles in the Battle of Geonosis as well as in the lead up to the Battle of Kashyyyk. Consisting of four hardened, well trained commandos

BOSS, also known as RC-1138, and Delta-38, was a clone commando in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars and Imperial commando of the Imperial Army. He was nicknamed Boss by his fellow clones, and was the sergeant of Delta Squad.

Image
FIXER, also known as RC-1140, and Delta-40, was an elite clone commando in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Although he hated the use of nicknames, he was known as Fixer to the other commandos in his squad, because of his talent for fixing and slicing all things mechanical.

Unlike his fellow squad members had developed distinct personalities, Fixer was a gruff, by-the-book clone. Fixer was often the one urging his squad onwards during a mission.

SEV, also known as RC-1207 and Delta-07, was a clone commando and a sharpshooter in Delta squad during the Clone Wars. He was often referred to by his nickname of Sev, especially by his squad mates, and was well known for his sadistic sense of humor. Sev, alegedly, was given this name due to his love of severing an enemy's limb or body part. Sev aided the Republic in a number of missions, fighting on planets such as Geonosis, Coruscant, Skuumaa, Mygeeto, Dorumaa, and finally Kashyyyk, where he went missing in action. Sev completed many Black Operations for the Republic--covert missions typically involving activities that were highly secret due to questionable ethics and legality.

SCORCH, also known as RC-1262, or Delta 62, was a clone commando in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Among the commandos of Delta Squad he was often referred to as Scorch, he was considered to be Delta Squad's wise guy, and was often chided by RC-1140 known as Fixer, the squads unofficial second in command.

However, most of Scorch's comments were aimed at Sev, and he was not afraid to talk back. Scorch was the squads demolitions expert, and loved annihilating anything that came in reach.

Info above as from Rebelscum.com :P They will be released at edition size of 1300. Shipping 4th quarter

Looking really good :) I was starting to worry they would give us 4 repaints of the same mould with slight variations. Time to start saving up..

Ahh, I figure you didn't play the game haha :P The game is centered around Delta squad and you play the chracter 'Boss', so many grew to like them. Order 66 is more about story of Omega, I've re-read it a few times nonetheless lol

Here ya go, 3 3/4" Delta sitting on my table XD

Does anyone else thinks that Boss' and Scorch's helmet sculpt looks off? Might be the angle or something...

Well, they're supposed to be fitter than the normal clones..And they get better gear, which means that they're armor may only weigh little more than the standard clones' one.

I think they fit the role of the heavy cavalry rather than actual spec-ops. 'Sides, there is another branch where the clones are meant for the covert ops. They are the Covert Ops clone troopers.. (think TX ver. for the clone troopers)

The only resemblance i see is the helmet shape... looks rounder like Master Chief's helm.

Helmet - The helmet of the Katarn-class armor had an HUD or heads up display that consistently displayed tactical data such as the locations and distances of your target, it also displayed the health of the wearer and the strength of the suits shields, it had the ability to system link between other suit bearers through the use of an internal communications antennae allowing each member of a squad to keep track of each others health and location, it had specialized internal sensors in the suit that could detect the make, model, and accuracy of every weapon that a commando used thus changing the shape and size of the target reticule for each weapon. All of these features were viewed through the visor. It had a filtration mask which could extract oxygen from toxic environments. The visor features an electrobinocular visor.

Body - The body of the armor had several features such as a reinforced Duraplast plating for defense against blaster fire and other anti-infantry weapons, it was also resistant to extreme heat and cold. It was fully sealed allowing a commando to survive in a vacuum for 20 minutes with a full tank of air. The knuckle plate of the armor featured a retractable vibroblade used for close quarter combat and quiet encounters.
Backpack -

The Backpack featured specialized ammo cartridges that hold various different types of ammo. The backpack itself was reconfigurable for many different types of missions such as an extra oxygen tank for aquatic and space-borne environments, a large bacta dispenser for healing, or even an external communications array for long distance communications (i.e. subspace transmissions). It is interesting to note that the backpack had a display on it that showed the last two digits of the respective commando's ID number.

Abstracted from wikia..their armor is that bulky cause it can take a light cannon round, verpine shatter gun, EMP etc..they are like a walking tanks behind enemies line haha
