kotobukiya stormtrooper luke query

Post by Valentin » Fri Jan 19, 2007 5:59 pm

Hi all,

For those who own the stated, how is the left arm supposed to fit into the socket? Mine seems to have fitting problems. The grey oval isn't angle properly, thus am unable to lock the arm in.

Anyone has any idea what to do apart from cutting part of the socket?

All my kotos are unopened so I don't have hands-on experience to share. But I've read many similar issues on various forums and it seems most fitting problems can be solved by immersing one of the part in hot water to enlarge the socket.

Another solution is to slightly sand down the plug to make it fit better, or grease it somewhat.

But the sanding option should ONLY be attempted AFTER exhausting all other ways to fit it.

Thanks. I just checked out the displays at CSC, seems like their stormtrooper luke is having the same problem too.

Think am going to sand down that part.

Thanks, Don & Avix.

Cool Valentin..I do face the similiar problem when initially fixing my clone series..What I do is too use a lubricant (hee hee) to smooth the socket  and get it fixed easily..Using a sandpaper is also a good idea, but try not to use a pen knife to chipped off the unwanted (probably due to manufacturing process, those things exist),by over chipping it'll end up the socket will become loose easily..

Oh... didn't realized that.

Anyway, I treat it like a model kit, did a quick job with my modeling blade, then wet sand the affected areas.

Finally, it fits. And it's snug, not loose at all.

Though, after spending near to hundred for it, I may want to reconsider my future purchases.

Anyway, it's neat and cool, having a stormtrooper on my office table.
