TIE Fighters were used by Biggs Darklighter and his mutineers to escape the Rand Ecliptic. Low on fuel, the group returned to the Ecliptic only to find it had been taken over by a Rebel cell led by Hobbie Klivian. The TIEs were then refitted with hyperdrives, astromech sockets, and ejection seats for a mission to steal X-Wings from Incom. Finally, in a bold statement of defiance, these formerly Imperial fighters were emblazoned with the Rebel Alliance symbol! Bigg's pilots then ejected from the TIE Fighters - with the astromech droids piloting the ships on their own - a tactic that drew off Imperial TIE fighters on patrol around the system.
Same windowed packaging as per the previous releases of the Large-scaled Wing TIE Fighters.

Well, it's a re-paint. Uses the same cockpit as the recent TIE Interceptor, and the large-scaled wings with the Rebel Alliance Logo on it.

Let's check out close-ups on the cockpit.

Since it's a repaint, there's no socket nor space to add in the astromech within the cockpit.

Hobbie Klivianâ„¢ is the exclusive pilot figure that come with this set. Let's take a look at him.

And with his helmet off,

The rebel alliance logos are quite well done on his shoulders with minimal paint bleeding.

The pilot figure doesn't come with lots of accessories, just these,

Even then, am not really sure which type of blaster is he equipped with.

The figure comes with 11 points of articulation, not much, but it's got where it counts, such as being able to fit in the cockpit.

This set appeals to me even though it's part of the Expanded Universe. It's from one of the Darkhorse comics stories on Biggs Darklighter. Though, Hasbro could certainly have done better, with a slightly re-tooled cockpit to hold the astromech, instead of a straight re-paint.

To end off, here's 2 quick shots.

Head to head... Who will survive...
Image

Biggs,"Hobbie, get this flying crate off my landing pad now!"
Hobbie,"Hey, Chill it, just testing the interfacing with the R2 unit."

Sorry for asking this question that may seem dumb but what is the difference between this TIE fighter and a normal one?? (Other than the different color scheme) :?

Compared to the latest Large-scaled Wing TIE Fighter, only the paint deco differ. Oh, and the pilot is different too.
