Removal batteries in MISB toy

Post by ant » Mon Feb 09, 2009 12:19 pm

Hi,
I m a new toy collector. Currently i m a bit stuck up whether to open the box of MISB toy, remove batteries to prevent rust or leakage or should keep it as it is.

Recently i m also intend to buy a ATAT MISB. Anybody have the experience if the batteries are aleardy corrode over these years?

:(

Hi,
Just share with you guys. I've just bought the POTF ATAT MISB. After 12 years of storage, there is no sign of leakage at all.
I think its depends on how much u use the battery. If there are always current going through the circuit, it might be a higher chance of leaking.

M I Rite?

Woah thanks for sharing with us.
I'll be more careful from now on when it comes to buying vehicles with batteries in them.

Are the batteries included in this toy. From what I remembered, batteries are not included. But then how come batteries are already inside if it is MISB? :? And I thought EP1 toys were released in 1999?

Oh is it?? 1998 is written on the box...
The batteries are aleardy inside the compartment. When i got the box, its not with stickers, box is very new. No sign of tearing the sticker. I thought the box comes without taping it as like some of the masterpiece transformers toy.
Inner sticker have been open while i chk. I guess might be the seller taken out to see see then put it back, cause the item is still very new. No sign of parts being pull out . So i dont mind.

But the box did write " Requires 2 "AA" batteries"
I guess its like what you said... It dont suppose to come with batt?

Maybe you should go back to the seller. Not because it is opened before, but because the batteries had melted the cover.
