Strikes me that these current series of figures aren't that "collectable".

Have you checked out collection 2? Since this is a movie year, Hasbro needs to attend to the needs of kids, that is to provide figures that have "children appeal" such as *arrghhh* slashing action *aarrgghh*.

Collection 2 has a base and very nice sculpts, without those action stuff. Unfortunately, from what I see, it's not much. However, one of the US sites mentioned that Hasbro will be concentrating more on Collection 2 figures after the ROTS hype is over, which IIRC is next year.
