I'm new!

Hi guys. This is my virgin post.
When I was young, I was pretty fascinated by Star Wars and it is not the movie, but the cartoon! I'm a local in my 20s right now, and I have plans to join the 501th. However, I am cash-strapped and given that my art sucks, the products will look inferior.
I'm looking to be a royal guard or a trooper like most of the guys here, and have thought of being Darth Vader which simply excites me.
In the meanwhile, I will lurk around in this forum and hopefully in a few years time I can get my first costume done. Cheers!

in order to be approved by the 501st HQ, u need an almost screen accurate outfit. cost would range from 1k up. =D we have sources if u require. let us know =D

the cost of building it will be around the same price.. just to give u the heads up on how much you should set aside.. preferrably around 1200-1300 to be on the safe side

You may want to speak to Dom, our current IRG.
He can offer some tips and possible current cost for the costume.
Think good to allocate SGD500+ for it?
My infos are all rusty as I haven't touch (
or rather redo) my ROTJ-CE IRG in ages; am "busy" with my TB, IC, ID and TI these days
The whole suit cost me way less than SGD250 anyway back in 2001 (
with the bulk of cost going towards the Don Post Helmet and a bit for tailoring of my Inner Robe. Velvet used was the Cheapo/Thin one so Wind was my enemy! )
