Jedi and Sith

How about a discussion on the differences between a Jedi and a Sith, keeping in view the discoveries from the New Jedi Order (transformation of Jacen and Tahiri) that a Jedi can be more than what Jedi is from Episode 1 to 3?

Jedi look to the past, studied the past and learn how to find past enemies. Sith look into the future and learn how to prepare for the future. How true are these statements?

I would be interested in a thread to discuss these and more...

In the past, Jedi do not have families of their own.

From the novels, Han Solo married Leia and have children. Luke marry Mara and have a family too. This goes against Jedi tradition where Anakin was not allow to marry Padme. To marry, means to have attachments, to have attachments means to go to the Dark Side.

Those who followed the novels would know that Anakin, Jacen and Jaina had attachments too or going to.

Does this means all of them are going to the Dark Side or are they actually improving and making the Jedis better? This would imply that Jedi
traditions despite its history could be wrong. If they are wrong here, could they be wrong about Sith too?

I have read stories on the Sith from comics, are they not Jedi gone bad? and Sith is just a convenient name for them. In any society or organisation, there will be the good and bad as without the bad, who is to say what is good?

Elementary my dear lhs...
The main title of this book series explains everything...
NEW Jedi Order. Anakin, Jacen, Jaina Solo and the other young Jedi Knights and Sith Apprentices make their own rules fighting against a new unknown enemy Yuuzhan Vong.

In the latest series Ben Skywalker refuse to use his innate force their his force-strong Jedi Masters parents...

Even without family to begin with, the Jedi do care about and interact with each another... won't that result in fear or jealousy?

How about this comparison coming from a Dark Lord of the Sith himself

A Jedi gains power through understanding

A
SITH gains UNDERSTANDING through POWER!!

Sigh......

This is pointless.

No one is really interested in discussing and contrasting the differences between Jedi philosophies and Sith philosophies.

I request the admin or moderator to lock this topic before it becomes a laughing stock.

Sigh.......

Thanks so much for your feedback which I appreciate , my dear friend. :)

Looking at the thread, I think it's all being done in harmless fun , so I'll just leave the thread alone for the moment .

I'm sure no malice was intended . :)
