I'm not sure about the counters, but BBC does provide details on the scope. Maybe there's a way to hollow out the insides?

Yes, the pipe blaster is a completely seperate project and not a substitute for Hyperfirm. The pipe blaster will have lights, sound and colour display. I already have some of the electrics ordered. There is now a seperate link on this in the 501st discussion section.
