nowadays the market seems to be filled with china made CDs & DVDs... look carefully at the labels otherwise you may be bringing home an unoriginal copy...

I am quite selective when buying DVD movies, mostly war (ancient or modern) especially those that involved computer aided graphics. I'll watch the movie in big screen then decided to buy DVD as collection.

I bought mine at Amazon.COM and have no reason to change. All of mine are Region 1.

The last one I bought was Enterprise Season 1. The last DVD was cracked. According to Amazon.COM's policy, I am supposed to ship the whole package back and they would replace it for free but would charge package and shipping. Since it is only one DVD, I did not want to waste too much money on package and shipping and ask if they are any other alternatives such as just shipping the spoilt DVD only. I got a pleasant surprise when they told me that they will ship the whole Season 1 DVD to me at no cost since it would be too expensive for me to pay package and shipping.

Well that certainly turn me into a loyal customer. So until I get bad service from Amazon.COM, I will stick to them even if I have to pay a bit more.

Yo e3lipse

Gramaphone is alive and well at their new location---at Scott's basement. It's at the far end of the food court area.

I got my Clone Wars: Season 1 there

anyone knows the retail price for the Region 1 Ep III: Return of the Sith and Clone Wars Vol 2? I was shocked to find out yesterday that BlueMax at Plaza Sing has closed down. I was there 3 weeks ago and it was still open for business.

In Amazon, ROTS retails at US$17.99. If purchased alone, including P&P (US$6.50), I estimate the cost to be S$41. If purchase with more items (US$4), the price can drop about $5. For Clone Wars Vol 2 is at US$13.99, including P&P, estimate to cost S$30. I use these rough gauge to decide whether to buy in Singapore or Amazon.

I usually find buying in Amazon is cheaper than in Singapore. Do your own calculations and see for yourself.
