Pig latin is now more commonly used by gay people to talk in "codes" to one another to avoid detection.

How do i know this?

My friend ALWAYS irritate me with this whenever he talks to his BF over the phone.

Almost made me slap him a few time.

nahh.... you can't strike down the whole language with a broad assumption based on one unfortunate instance.

Exactly! Pig latin is spoken by people who don't want others to know what they're talking about. Say, if I was in Taiwan or Hong Kong, and I wanted to speak to my friend, but I don't want the storekeeper to know our conversation, I speak in pig latin. I can't speak in Chinese, cos they'll understand, I can't speak in English cos they'll probably understand too, even if their general standard of English is not that good. But if I speak in pig latin, there is a much lower chance they will know what I'm saying.
