I like the ROTS packaging...much nicer than the AOTC packaging...

ROTS packaging looks good but the figures are poorly done... so far the best I've seen is the single Palpatine's in black robes figure.

I stopped collecting a little while ago but the packaging on ROTS is really attractive to me and I am quite tempted to get my collection going again but looking at the range of figures, there is just too many in the first couple of waves and as a completist I will be so upset if I don't get them all - gotta catchem all - so.... am still in comtemplation.

yeah~ I wonder y they are so badly made ~_~" when Mcfarlane and other toys manufacturer are making awesome ones.

But then again they are targeted at kids, unlike those nicer toy makers that targeter at older audience, who will demand more details.

Should check out those from Collection 2, think Hasbro has now changed it such that this collection is designed for collectors, whereas the collection 1 is more for kids....got those slashing actions, etc

I love the new figures. Most of them are very nicely sculpted. I just dont appreciate most of the action features. Ruins the sculpts.

As what the usual reply goes......but these are child's toys

Still, I agree. The attraction of the 3 1/2 inch has always been the simplicity, and the fun of holding the figures in your hands.

Improving on the sculpt is what I like most, adding the articulation is fantastic (eg. the super-articulated stormtroopers), but some of the action stuff really makes spoils the sculpt.

I think some figs are quite nice like Jedi master Luminara, Aayla, Fisto. Dark Sidious in black robe is nice. The clone trooper with its full articulations is great but feel the arms & shoulder are out of proportion. The worst ones are the human characters like Mace Windu, the face looks funny. Anakin in full jedi robe look terrible too.

Got some stuff at the midnight sale but not a lot. Was actually not planning on getting anything at all but wanted to be there to soak up the atmosphere and see you guys there too.

Mostly also because it was probably the last midnight sale (in the near future anyway) so I don't want to miss it. Also wanted to let my son experience it too.

My days of being a completist are over.

Also see my other thread on the General Grievous 12" action figure on my views on the 12" figure:

IMHO the only figures worth the prices we are paying are the Clone Commander and Clone Pilot figures.

Not sure about the Clone Pilot.....the colour of the face that is visible is a little weird. The Clone Commander looks really good. Don't know how it looks out of the card.
