Gandalf Fett wrote:Anakin: 'You're so beautiful.'

Padme: 'It's only because I'm so in love.'

Anakin: 'No, it's because I'm so in love with you.'

  :D
Now THAT was an unnecessary scene...and to think that the Delegation of 2000 Senators petition scene was deleted. :x

Here's another perspective . Put those 3 lines in the context of that scene, which continued with....

Padme ( laughing a little ) : So love has blinded you ?

Anakin : No .... that's not what I meant ....

Padme ( thoughtfully ) : That may well be the case .....

Although it was meant to be a love scene , a tender but playful exchange between a man and his wife, Padme's words took on an ironic and much deeper and darker meaning . Anakin was certainly blinded by love, as was Padme, and neither sensed the darkness that was about to descend upon them. Anakin was so blinded by love that he failed to see how Palpatine was manipulating him . For me, it was the last sentence that Padme said that made this scene so much more chilling, as opposed to nauseating ..... LOL :D

Disclaimer : I may have parahrased what they said a little because I can't remember the exact words they said, but that's basically the drift of what they said.....

Only a Sith thinks in absolutes!

I find this statement totally puzzling. From episodes 1 - 3, we see that it is the JEDI who think in absolutes. Look at their code - you can't do x, y, z. Absolute prohibitions. Whilst Palpatine himself says that he has learnt both the light and dark side. The Sith looks as if they live in the grey areas whilst the Jedi exist in Blacks and Whites.

It looks to me that Lucas did not even understand his own Jedi mythology and tried to force a pseudo-political point.

Welcome to the board, Hovin ! :D

Excellent points, you have made ! I never thought of it before, but you are right. Hmmmm , this goes to show that at the end of the day, it's just a movie after all . I'll bet you that Lucas himself never saw it from your perpective .

LOL .... pretty good one, Gandalf !

Hey , is there any way we can convince you to do a series of Star Wars themed comic strips for www.starwars.sg ? Or can we have permission to mirror some of your strips on our site ?

Let us know...

No problem Dan - just make sure there's still a link back to my site and I have no problems with it.

Did you check out my "Mission : Improbable" storyline?

Very nice of you, Ben ! We will definitely link each strip back to your website prominently , and we will also add your website to our LINKS section.

I haven't checked out your "Mission : Improbable" storyline yet, but I certainly will after this !

Thanks again, man ! :D

I thought the last line was something like "but it is true" or whatever. Heh.

As we watch again and again, we notice the "minor" things with some... hidden meanings and references. This is where the fun begins!

[OT a tad] Can anyone explain to me how the pure-energy blade of a lightsabre can hold up the hilt when the blade penetrates something?

Yeah, you're right... I think Padme said , " That may be true... " or something like that ! Anyone remember the line ?

As for the lightsabre , erm..... " poetic licence " ? :D
