Lightsaber Duel Show Down
I start from the end. Why did obi-wan left Anakin alone after slashing off his limbs. What is the real reason?
"If you strike me down, I will be more powerful than you think!"
he wouldn't kill anakin.
Kenobi's a Jedi. He won't kill an unarmed opponent.
I'd think that Skywalker was arrogant till the end.
He wouldn't want Kenobi to help him.
It'd bring him lightyears of shame.
Kenobi walked away.
Feeling gutted.
There's nothing he could do he thinks.
And Sidious is just around the corner.
Wouldn't want to face him.

"This threshold is mine. I claim it for my own. Bring on your thousands, one at a time or all in a rush. I don't give a damn. None shall pass."

The real reason is that there is continuity to Episode IVGenXstealth wrote:I start from the end. Why did obi-wan left Anakin alone after slashing off his limbs. What is the real reason?
Find, fix, finish
Matt Stover offers 3 reasons in the ROTS novel:
Although it would been merciful to finish off Anakin,
1) Obi-Wan decided to leave Anakin's fate to the will of the Force. Besides, he did'nt want to murder a helpless man too.
2) Obi-Wan sensed Palpatine fast approaching, and realised there's no time to waste climbing down the slope to Anakin.
3) Obi-Wan wanted to do one last thing for Anakin, in honour to his memory; to save Padme.
A simpler explanation frm George Lucas is that Obi-Wan thought Anakin had no chance of surviving. When he left Anakin, the last image he had was that of a man writhing in flames
