would anakin skywalker have acted differently if ...
the jedi council had not shut him out so harshly? ... those masters must have been clouded by the dark side ...
must be the vaapad.
Windu was a master of a deadly techniqu of Vaapad, which was said to be treading closely to the dark side... maybe its his skill that lead to the 'dark' side approach?

Is this (Vaapad) a skill or what?area503 wrote:Windu was a master of a deadly techniqu of Vaapad, which was said to be treading closely to the dark side... maybe its his skill that lead to the 'dark' side approach?
VAAPAD
In his day, Mace was one of the best lightsaber fighters of the Jedi order. It was said only two opponents ever bested him -- Yoda, and Dooku. Only the most skilled of the Jedi could master the his Form VII discipline of combat -- the deadly technique known as vaapad -- for its aggressive nature treaded dangerously upon dark side practices.

He wasn't defenseless - he still had his lighting strikes but he's faking it so that he could get to the emotional core of Anakin whereas Windu was totally focused on Palpatine thereby dropping his guard down on Anakin cause otherwise, he would sense the trouble / confusion / hate / anger boiling in Anakin. So the arrest was no longer possible especially since Windu realised that imprisonment alone cannot hold Palpatine.
Interestingly, Mace Windu said to Palpatine: You are under arrest.
Then when Anakin said: Palpatine should stand trial,
but Mace replied: Palpatine control the senate and the court ....
If both senate and court are corrupted, wonder why Mace want to "arrest" Palpatine in the first place, might as well "execute" Palpatine immediately before Anakin walking in ...
I think Anakin is right, Palpatine must stand trial, and let the senate and court (regardless how corrupted, they are still independent legislative and judiciary body) to judge Palpatine, not by a Jedi - who is just a protector (aka an enforcement body).

May the Force Live Long & Prosper ...
Agree. Justice and Law can be very different as fans of Batman will tell you. I suppose when Mace came to "arrest" Palpatine, he was not able to kill Palpatine as Palpatine was too fast. Only Mace was fast enough to avoid being killed.freefly wrote:Though i agree that Anakin is right to say Palpatine must stand trial, i doubt that upholding justice was on his mind then. Pame was
